Anyone who uses personal protective equipment (PPE) in high-risk environments knows how important it is to ensure maximum safety without compromising comfort. However, for spectacle wearers, the use of a full-face mask can be an obstacle: the arms of the spectacles interfere with the tight seal of the mask, compromising respiratory protection.
Full face masks are designed to fit snugly over the face, creating a seal that prevents contaminated air from entering. Spectacles with side arms interrupt this fit, creating potentially dangerous leaks. In practice, wearing normal spectacles under a full face mask means nullifying the protection offered by the PPE.
To remedy this problem, a specific solution is used in the occupational safety sector: the use of dedicated internal frames, specially designed to fit inside the mask.
