Discover the safe solution for integrating corrective lenses into PPE without compromising protection.
Anyone who uses personal protective equipment (PPE) in high-risk environments knows how important it is to ensure maximum safety without compromising comfort. However, for spectacle wearers, the use of a full-face mask can be an obstacle: the arms of the spectacles interfere with the tight seal of the mask, compromising respiratory protection.
Full face masks are designed to fit snugly over the face, creating a seal that prevents contaminated air from entering. Spectacles with side arms interrupt this fit, creating potentially dangerous leaks. In practice, wearing normal spectacles under a full face mask means nullifying the protection offered by the PPE.
To remedy this problem, a specific solution is used in the occupational safety sector: the use of dedicated internal frames, specially designed to fit inside the mask.
These frames:
They have no temples, so they do not interfere with the fit of the mask.
They are compatible with most corrective lenses, which are fitted by your optician.
Internal frames for corrective lenses become indispensable in various contexts:
Work in industrial environments with the presence of hazardous chemicals or dust.
Work in healthcare or pharmaceutical environments where full face protection is required.
Clean-up operations, treatment of hazardous materials or painting.
Those who need this type of configuration should:
Check that the full face mask supports internal lens accessories such as our BLS 5000 and BLS 2000 series of full face masks.
Request a compatible inner frame such as the BLS C22 frame.
Contact your optician to have corrective lenses fitted.
Compatibility between full face masks and spectacles is a common but surmountable challenge. Internal frames for corrective lenses are a safe, comfortable and effective solution that allows you to work in critical environments without sacrificing protection or vision quality.
