Our Merry Christmas is a smile that comes out of a mask.

BLS is participating in the sixth edition of the biennial Dutch trade fair for occupational safety professionals. At a time like this, working in safe and healthy conditions has become a topical and priority issue for everyone. This event is an important forum to share knowledge, influence behaviour and highlight the importance of prevention and sustainable work.

The trade fair will be held at the Rotterdam Ahoy, one of the most important congress centres and arenas in the Netherlands, which will host Safety&Health@Work for the sixth time. The event attracts 3500 safety professionals, united by the knowledge that working safely is a priority issue nowadays. They are members of management, safety experts, prevention managers, occupational health and safety specialists, purchasers, facility managers, QHSE managers, human resource managers and fire prevention officers.
More than 120 suppliers of these services and products present the latest innovations, trends and developments during this key event.

Let's take a look at some of this year's themes:
WORKING WITH (HAZARDOUS) SUBSTANCES: One in six employees has to deal with hazardous substances during their work. Every year, no less than 3,000 people die as a result. What can be done about it?
SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYMENT: Even in hazardous and demanding professions, employees must be able to work safely and healthily until retirement. What needs to be done to promote sustainable employment?
BEHAVIOUR AND AWARENESS: Routine work seems to be the main cause of accidents at work. How to convince employees to change their behaviour?
INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGY AND ROBOTIZATION: New automated techniques can ensure that people no longer have to be used for jobs that meet the 3 Ds: Dirty, Dangerous and Dull?
LAWS AND REGULATIONS: Laws and regulations contribute to safety in the workplace or, on the contrary, constitute an obstacle. Punishment does not automatically lead to the desired behaviour, often reward works better.
THE VALUE OF SAFETY: Safety measures cost investments, people also learn to work more safely. But can safety be expressed in terms of money?
PREVENTION: Prevention is better than cure. How can we ensure that no more dangerous situations occur?
Safety&Health @ Work will be open from Wednesday October the 5th to Thursday October the 6th, from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We look forward to meeting you.
