Scheduled events
Let's take a look at some of this year's themes:
WORKING WITH (HAZARDOUS) SUBSTANCES: One in six employees has to deal with hazardous substances during their work. Every year, no less than 3,000 people die as a result. What can be done about it?
SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYMENT: Even in hazardous and demanding professions, employees must be able to work safely and healthily until retirement. What needs to be done to promote sustainable employment?
BEHAVIOUR AND AWARENESS: Routine work seems to be the main cause of accidents at work. How to convince employees to change their behaviour?
INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGY AND ROBOTIZATION: New automated techniques can ensure that people no longer have to be used for jobs that meet the 3 Ds: Dirty, Dangerous and Dull?
LAWS AND REGULATIONS: Laws and regulations contribute to safety in the workplace or, on the contrary, constitute an obstacle. Punishment does not automatically lead to the desired behaviour, often reward works better.
THE VALUE OF SAFETY: Safety measures cost investments, people also learn to work more safely. But can safety be expressed in terms of money?
PREVENTION: Prevention is better than cure. How can we ensure that no more dangerous situations occur?
