BLS 2600 next PAPR is an assisted ventilation system to be used with a full face mask and dust filter. It provides the user with filtered ambient air and thanks to the constant air flow and the absence of respiratory effort, it is the ideal solution for heavy-duty use.

What is a Fit Test and how does it work?A Fit Test is a leak test necessary to assess the effectiveness (and safety) of a respiratory protective device.
The webinar, held by BLS Iberia in collaboration with Formación en Seguridad Laboral, will cover the differences between different PPE and the importance of the Fit-Test.

Activated carbon can be in granular form (Granular activated carbon, GAC) or powdered form (Powdered activated carbon, PAC) and is characterised by a high absorption power: the presence of activated carbon in respiratory protective devices is essential to retain toxic gases or vapours and unpleasant odours, because it allows the user to work without exhaling them.

Covid19 almost reached us - coming 60 kilometres from our company - on 21 February 2020. And from then on our life was changed forever.2020 was, for us, a year on the frontline of the Covid19 emergency. During the Coronavirus pandemic, we changed from a “niche” company to being at the centre of a production system of essential goods for the protection of people's health: thanks to machines designed and engineered internally, and to the synergies with universities and market partners, we have always been able to have a competitive production, even with respect to China. All this without increasing the prices of our facemask, supplying hospitals, old people’s homes and law enforcement, supporting various associations with the donation of over 40 thousand masks.

The calendar with our webinars dealing with safety in the workplace is as follows:Friday 27th of November, 11.45-12.45 Filtering facemasks: EN 149:2001+A1:2009 standard and related products with areas of useAfter a short presentation on BLS, an Italian company specialized in the production respiratory protection devices for 50 years, we will look in depth at the EN 149 standard concerning filtering facemasks and their areas of use, introducing BLS’ mono-use devices.
With a filtering capacity of more than 94% for FFP2 and more than 99% for FFP3, the new BLS 502 and BLS 503 masks are DPI without valves, CE certified according to European regulation 2016/425 and technical standard EN 149: 2001, able to protect users in the event of exposure to solid and/or liquid non-volatile particles (dust, fumes, mists) and to block the dispersion of viruses both incoming and outgoing. They are, in fact, sealed on the face and manufactured with a "welding” process, without seams and perforations on the fabric from which micro particles could pass, thus creating a barrier during exhaling, protecting the environment from the user of the mask. These masks are therefore ideal for use in the food & beverage and medical sectors, as well as in all work environments where contamination by the user must be avoided.

This is the promise of Narvalo Urban Mask, the FFP3 anti-smog and anti virus facemask that communicates with a dedicated app, monitoring the quality of the air in the environment around us. Made entirely in Italy, the idea of this facemask was conceived at the Polytechnic University of Milan School of Design, developed under the PoliHub Innovation District & Start-up Accelerator’s Switch2Product programme, and realized in collaboration with BLS.
The calendar with our webinars dealing with safety in the workplace is as follows:Thursday 25th of June, 11.45-12.45 Respiratory Protection: BLS history and servicesAfter a short introduction on the presentation of BLS, the effects of exposure to contaminants harmful for our respiratory system will be described and, therefore, the need to use verified protection devices in compliance with all regulatory requirements and the importance of the correct use of such devices.
Surgical masks are medical devices that are used to protect ourselves and others. In fact, they block the propagation of droplets emitted orally when coughing and sneezing, or simply speaking. Nevertheless, they do not guarantee the blocking of the virus dispersed in aerosols as they are not leak-proof on the user’s face and do not have a filtering function during inhalation.FP1, FFP2 and FFP3 masks stand out, first and foremost, for their filtering efficiency, which increases as per their number: FFP1 masks have a filtering capacity of 80%, FFP2 more than 94%, and FFP3, higher than 99%. They also stand out for the presence or absence of the valve. Facemasks without valves are Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that protect those who use them and others, blocking the dispersion of the virus both both incoming and outgoing, since they are sealed on the face and are manufactured by means of a “welding” process so that there are no seams or perforations on the fabric through which micro-particles could pass. This is why these masks are generally used by doctors and health employees. FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 with valves, on the other hand, only protect the user, because they prevent the virus from entering, but do not block outgoing virus completely.
Our experience in the production of respiratory protection devices makes us give an affirmative answer. Probably also in the case of 2019-nCoV, and with high probability in the less aggressive Coronaviruses, more common in our country.Starting from our experience, we recommend three virtuous behaviours to protect against these viruses.For preventive protection, it is advisable to wear disposable masks with at least the FFP2 protection level. The FFP2 filtering facepiece is suitable for protection from solid and/or non-volatile liquid particles. As an example, in our production are the masks BLS 128B/128BW, BLS 728, BLS 828.To reduce the spread of the virus, infected people should wear disposable masks with protection level FFP2 or FFP3 without an exhalation valve. When dealing with infected people, we recommend disposable masks with protection level FFP2 or FFP3, preferably without an exhalation valve. Still as an example, in our production are the masks BLS 128B/128BW, BLS 728, BLS 828, BLS Zer030NV.A final tip, certainly not in importance, is that a protective device is useless if it does not fit the face and is not worn correctly. Therefore, when wearing a respiratory protection device, you must always make sure that it fits on the face to guarantee an optimal seal: read the donning instructions.

From April 21st 2018, the new EU Regulation 2016/425 has been in force, replacing the previous Directive 89/686/EEC and establishing the requirements for the design and manufacture of personal protective equipment (PPE).What changes The main difference is that the responsibilities for each step along the supply chain of the personal protective device, from the manufacturer to the distribution network, are defined in a more clear and detailed manner. BLS's products will not undergo any change as they are already regulated by the previous legislation, for they are Category III PPE.
