With the aim to safeguard riders and teams against the Covid-19 pandemic, which continues to be a major issue facing us on a global scale, BLS is taking to the track as an official partner of Yamaha Motor Racing.
For the entire 2022 season, BLS will supply customised FFP2 protective masks that meet the criteria set by Dorna Sports and conform to Yamaha's safety standards and regulations.
The riders - Fabio Quartararo, MotoGPTM World Champion 2021, and Franco Morbidelli - as well as the entire Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team and the Yamaha staff present at Grand Prix races will be able to carry out their tasks inside the paddock and the pits in full comfort and awareness of their own safety.
FFP2, produced and certified by BLS, was created with the intention of stressing the importance of one's own breathing and health and of wearing practical but certified and safe personal protective equipment, to protect oneself - and the others - in every context..
Safety is enhanced by comfort: with its vertical format, the mask fits the face perfectly and guarantees an optimal fit on faces of different sizes and shapes. In addition, nape elastics prevent pressure on the ears, even during prolonged use.
Thanks to the partnership that began in early 2022, the new BLS masks - specially designed for Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team, Yamaha staff and riders - were already in use last weekend at the first official test in Sepang (Malaysia) and they will also be used at the next MotoGP test in Mandalika (Indonesia) on 11-13 February.

Yamaha Factory Racing is Yamaha's entirely owned Factory Team in MotoGP. The team was founded in 1999 following the retirement of Grand Prix legend Wayne Rainey and, after an initial phase in the Netherlands, in 2005 Yamaha Motor Racing BV created a single European Yamaha MotoGP operation in Italy (Yamaha Motor Racing Srl), strengthening and centralising the management of the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP team.
Yamaha Motor Racing Srl is headquartered in Gerno di Lesmo (Italy), near Monza, in a state-of-the-art facility, bringing all technical, logistic, management, marketing and communication departments under one roof. Although responsibility for the technical aspects of MotoGP remains predominantly with Yamaha's MotoGP Group in Japan, a number of Japanese and European engineers complete the European MotoGP set-up.

With a filtering capacity of more than 94% for FFP2 and more than 99% for FFP3, the new BLS 502 and BLS 503 masks are DPI without valves, CE certified according to European regulation 2016/425 and technical standard EN 149: 2001, able to protect users in the event of exposure to solid and/or liquid non-volatile particles (dust, fumes, mists) and to block the dispersion of viruses both incoming and outgoing. They are, in fact, sealed on the face and manufactured with a "welding” process, without seams and perforations on the fabric from which micro particles could pass, thus creating a barrier during exhaling, protecting the environment from the user of the mask. These masks are therefore ideal for use in the food & beverage and medical sectors, as well as in all work environments where contamination by the user must be avoided.
